PDC World Championship - Semi-finals
Two thrilling and highclass semifinals took place last night in Alexandra Palace - both with a more surprising end. And so we will see tomorrow an all English final between legend Phil Taylor and and his could be potential successor Rob Cross.
Phil Taylor managed to win a close match against Jamie Lewis 6:1. As most of the sets were only decided in a fifth leg the match was much closer than the result makes one believe. Taylor had to put all his experience and his clinical finishing into the balance to win.
The second semi-final was an epic match which was decided in a Sudden Death leg in which rather astonishing debutant Rob Cross and not the reigning champion Michael van Gerwen kept his nerve. Cross won in the end the match thanks to his clincal finishing as well while van Gerwen as in all his matches of the tournament missed surprisingly many doubles - among them six matchdarts
So in the final sixteen times world champion Phil Taylor will play debutant Rob Cross who proved in his semi-final match he has the potential for a world champion.

Taylor wins World Matchplay
The Blackpool fairytale had a happy end for Phil Taylor: with a 18:8 win over Peter Wright Phil Taylor secured himself his 16. World Matchplay title. Taylor has dominated the World Matchplay for many years. That he was able to win it for a last time in the last year of his career was richly deserved. He was the outstanding player of this year's tournament.
