Again an afternoon- and an evening session will take place.
The second day of the PDC World Championship was a long day of darts. In the afternoon session we did see three more one-sided matches which were won by Niels Zonneveld, Rob Cross and Ryan Searle. Cross win with a 170
finish was the highlight of the session.
The other match was a rather arduous affair - Ian White won in the end 3:2 against Mervyn King. In the evening the
atmosphere in the venue was even better from the start and Ross Smith and Andreas Harrysson delighted the crowd with a thrilling match in which Harrysson surprisingly prevailed 3:2.
After that Ricky Evans sparked the crowd with his walk-on even more and deservedly won 3:0 against Man Lok Leung who only played good in the
third set. In the match between Gian van Veen and Cristo Reyes it took some time till Reyes had settled but then he made live difficult for van Veen who only
just stopped Reyes to draw 2:2 and won 3:1. In the last match Damon Heta played against Steve Lennon and won 3:1.
Sometimes players, which somehow disappeared or you already wrote off, return to the PDC World Championship.
Today an afternoon and an evening session will take place.
The biggest uoset of the night already came in the first match of the PDC World Championship - German debutant Arno Merk showed no nerves at all and hit his doubles better
as his on this stage much more experienced opponent Kim Huybrechts and won 3:1. No problems at all had in the second match Michael Smith against
Lisa Ashton who was cheered a lot by the crowd and won 3:0 as did reigning champion Luke Littler against Darius Labanauskas. But the match was not as onesided as the result
- two of the sets went into the deciding leg and in the last set Labanauskas had his chances as well. In the last match Madars Razma made life rather difficult for him against
the dutch debutant Jamai van den Herik who didn't score as well as Razma but Razma had problems to hit his doubles. In the end the rather tense Razma won with 3:1.
On the first tournament day only an evening session will take place.
Today the much anticipated PDC World Championship will begin in London.
In the PDC preview reigning champion Luke Littler and former champions Michael Smith, Luke Humphries, Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen have their say.
The WDF World Championships are only just over but now all eyes are turned on the PDC World Championship in London which will begin on Thursday.
Last year Jimmy van Schie was already the favourit to win the title but lost third round to Jarno Bottenberg. This year he was the number 1 seed and this time with
an 6:3 win over Mitchell Lawrie really got the title. Lawrie already had been 3:0 in the lead but than became weaker and van Schie won deservedly. But Lawrie stayed not without title - he defeated in the boy's final
the good playing Florian Preis with 4:2. In the girl's event Zehra Gemi from Turkey defeated Rebecca Allen with 3:0. Gemi was dominat throughout the match and Allen just couldn't keep up. With her 77.07
Gemi even played a higher average then the new women's world champion Deta Hedman who won in the age of at her fourth attempt finally the title. Contrary to her other Lakeside finals Lakeside finals
Hedman most of the final looked very relaxed while her opponent the number 1 seed Lerena Rietbergen never really was in the match and lost 1:4.
With Paige Pauling yesterday in the semi-finals the last reigning champion was eliminated - Pauling lost in the girl's semi-finals against her Turkish opponent Zehra Gemi. The other girl's semi-final
was won by Rebecca Allen from Ireland, who will clash with Gemi in today's final. Still in the headlines is young Scotsman Mitchell Lawrie who reached with 15 years both the boy's and the men's final

far best match of the tournament by number 1 seed Jimmy van Shie. Van Schie will now meet today in the semi-finals Belgian Sybren Gijbels. In the other men's semi-final Mitchell

into the quarterfinals.
The fifth night of the WDF World Championships was a quite slow night on which the seeds Benjamin Pratnemer, Francois Schweyen (with some luck) and Matt Clark progressed into the next round. Only German Marcus Maier - who had moved up for
David Pallett last-minute - was eliminated. He won a solid first set but couldn't keep up his performance. In the women's tournament seed Tracy Feiertag didn't manage to settle on the Lakeside stage and lost to Priscilla
Steenbergen while the as well seeded Lorraine Hyde had to be sure the luck on her side to progress - she survived 13 matchdarts of Emine Dursun.
