Kirk Shepherd plays darts since 1999. He was Youth World Master in 2003 and 2004 and in 2006 he was the British Teenage Single Champion. Twice he was BDO Young Player of the year. When he was 18 he played himself into the final of the BDO Gold Cup.
In November 2006 he switched to the PDC but was not very successful. He managed to qualify for the World Championship 2008 by the qualifier, won several close matches against the Top Players and was only stopped by John Part in the World Championship Final. In the following years Shepherd never got even near this success though he in 2010 reached the last 16 of the PDC World Championship. He lost his Tour Card end of 2012, got it back in Qualifying School 2013. In 2015 he lost it again and played two years on the Challenge Tour. In 2017 he won his Tour Card back, lost it another time and was back in Qualifiyng School 2019. Shepherd again won it back but still is not really successful on the Pro Tour. But he qualified for a few European Tour events in which he from time to time reaches the later rounds.
The same pattern was repeated again - end of 2020 Sherpherd lost his Tour Card only to regain it in the UK Qualifying School 2021.
