James Richardson in 2011 took part in the PDC Qualifying School and got a Tour Card. He played till 2014 on the Pro Tour, lost the Tour Card and reagined it for the years 2016 - 2019. Richardson played 2015 and again 2020 on the Challenge Tour. In October 2011 he reached in Gladbeck for the first time the final of a Pro Tour Event. By the Players Championship Order of Merit he qualified for the PDC World Championship 2012 but lost at his debut second round against Kim Huybrechts. He returned to the PDC World Championship in 2013, 2018 and 2020. On the PRo Tour he was not really successful - only 2011 he once reached a final. But Richardson qualified for several European Tour events.
Richardson's son Joshua is an upcoming player who won 2016 the BDO World Youth Championship.
