Gordon Mathers can already be found in Australian tournaments for many years and in 2012 won his first event, the DPA Australian Singles. 2013 he was invited by the PDC to take part in the Sydney Masters. Since 2017 he plays more on the DPA Circuit, won a few events and was often well placed. By the DPA ranking he qualified for the PDC World Championship 2018 but lost his first match against Seigo Asada.
2018 the PDC invited him to take part in the Brisbane Darts Masters. 2018 and 2019 Mathers played strong on the DPA PRO Tour. 2020 he tried his luck in PDC Qualifying Tour but had no success. After the Qualifying Tour he played a few Challenge Tour events and reached a semi-final once. By the ranking Mathers qualified for the PDC World Championship 2021 and lost First Round against Max Hopp.
Mathers took part in the UK Qualifying School 2021 und got a Tour Card.
