Jarkko Komula played, interrupted by a short PDC intermezzo 2010, WDF and BDO tournaments. 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 he qualified for the BDO World Championship, but lost with the exception of 2004 first round. His biggest success in the BDO was a place in the final of the World Masters 2001. 2010 he qualified for the first time for the PDC World Championship but lost first round and soon returned to the BDO Circuit.
Due to this he later was invited to the first PDC World Cup where he formed together with Marko Kantele Team Finland. Since 2012 Komula plays the new Scandinavian Circuit. >He won two of the tournaments in 2012 and was ranked first in the SDC Ranking. As his fellow countryman Jani Haavisto - who ended on second place - he was invited to the PDC World Championship 2012. They were drawn to play one another in the preliminary round and Komula lost.
In February 2013 Komula together with Haavisto played as Team Finland in the third PDC World Cup and reached with an impressive team performance the semifinals.
