Richard Ashdown



Richard Ashdown is a caller who has worked on stage during several BDO/WDF open tournaments. Beside this he works as a spotter for the BBC.

Ashdown started his career in darts in 2002 when Bobby George engaged him for his exhibitions. He's still working with him and other top players on the exhibition circuit.
During the "Masters of Darts" in 2005 he for the first time appeared on television, he was member of the crew of the IDC and the WDF.
He already called during the WDF World Cup and in 2008 and 2009 he was one of the callers of the League of Legends.
In April 2013 he was appointed as successor for Martin Fitzmaurice by the BDO and is now the official MC and caller of the organisation.

Because he is so small the 1978 borne Ashdown has got the nickname "Little Richard".
Ashdown is married and lives in Dunton in England.
