German darts player Marcus Maier is an experienced player but it took till after the Corona years before he could celebrate first
tournament wins. 2022 he was nominated for the German National team and he plays for Steinfurt in the German Bundesliga. 2023 he
won his first DDV tournament. Another DDV tournament win followed in 2024 and in 2025 Maier won his first WDF event. As replacement
he unexpectedly moved into the field of participants of the WDF World Championships 2025 when seed David Pallett withdrew on
short notice. He will give his debut in the second round.
