The Danish dart player Jan Hoffmann played from 1989 to 1995 the BDO/WDF Circuit. He reached the finals of several Open tournaments, won a few and in those years four times qualified for the BDO World Championship. Two times he stood under the last 16. Hoffmann was member of the Danish national team and represented Denmark in international tournaments.
1995 he had to take a break of darts due to health problems. 2006 he reappeared and since 2010 he played all from the PDC Europe on the continent organised Players Championships. Beside he and Per Laursen were the Team Denmark in the PDC World Cup 2012.

2012 he founded together with Michael Frydenthal the SDC = Scandinavian Circuit which in the long run is supposed to offer the Sandinavian Top players the chance to take part in adequate high level contests. By this one hopes to achieve that Scandinavian players will be able to become professional players who'll meet the at the moment so dominant players from Great Britain on an equal footing.
