Canadian Rory Hansen started to play darts in the Malahat Legian in Shawnigan Lake when he was 19 but played for many years only in local events. He won several and in 2019 became a member of the national team of British Columbia. 2019 he took part for the first time in the Greater Vancouver Open and reached the Last 16. 2020 he won the tournament and by this qualified as replacement for the first WDF World Championship in 2022. Hansen won his first match against Mark Barilli but lost second round 0:3 to Nick Fullwell.
