David Evans started to play darts as a youth. 2002 he took part in the World Masters Youth and reached the last 16. In 2016 he reappeared in the PDC Qualifiying School but couldn't ge a Tour Card. He took part again without success in 2017 and 2018. Evans played from timer to time the PDC Challenge Tour and won one of the events in 2018. 2018 and 2019 he qualified for the UK Open - 2018 he stood in the last 64, 2019 he was eliminated first round. On the Challenge Tour he stood twice 2019 in a final. Evans beside played BDO tournaments and reached 2019 the final of the French Classic. He qualified for the BDO World Championship 2020, his first ever World Championship, and was defeated in the quarterfinals by Mario Vandenbogaerde. 2020 he again took part in Qualifiying School but again couldn't win a Tour Card and returned on the Challenge Tour. He won two evnts of the Challenge Tour and headed the Challenge Tour Order of Merit at the end of the season. By this he finally got his Tour Card and qualified for the PDC World Championship 2021 where he lost against Ross Smith in the first round.
