Is your technique perfect? Course it's not, but we may be able to help you get closer to perfection!
We have started visiting a lot more "Open" tournaments lately with our mobile shop. It is always interesting for me to take a wander around and just remind myself about the many different styles and techniques there are available to witness on the oche.

I was at the Isle of Wight Open recently and was chatting with the father of one of the players taking part. He was trying to encourage his son to re-model his technique. He has got to a standard that some players would be delighted with. His Father's argument though was if you want to move forward something has to change. He's right of course!

Lots of payers hit a plateau but are generally too concerned about maintaining their level than modifying their game. No pain - no gain is the cliché we need here. Yes you will undoubtedly take a few steps back as any changes bed in but after that you will reap the rewards.

We have come up with a fault finder to help you decide if maybe it is time to re-visit your tried but maybe not particularly trusted technique. You will have to be very honest with yourself or maybe get a trusted team mate to watch you throw and tick off the items in our fault finder!

I think most of these are self-explanatory and will all have a detrimental effect on your accuracy and precision. Next month we will look at how you can lose the bad habits and train yourself to throw with a much more effective technique.
