Tropicana World Series of Darts Festival

This PDC tournament will be played first time in June 2010 instead of the Las Vegas Desert Classics which never really could gain a foothold in America.

The Festival consists of five independent tournaments, played on five successive days from Saturday to Wednesday. They are all played in the Tropicana ballroom.

First to play is the World Cricket Championship - a totally new tournament as it is the first ever played Cricket World Championship though Cricket is more popular in the USA then the usually in tournaments played 501. Following are three Players Championships and the final tournament will be the North American Darts Championship which can only played by American and Canadian players.
Both - the Cricket World Championship and the North American Darts Championship - offer less price money then each of the Players Championships.

All five tournaments count for the North American Order of Merit together with two more Players Championships which will be played in August in Canada. The first two of the North American Order of Merit will get an invitation to the PDC World Championship in London.

Only the three Players Championships will count for the PDC Order of Merit and the Players Championship Order of Merit and they are important because they are the last chance to qualify for the World Matchplay in July.

While the Las Vegas Desert Classics always were televised by Sky Sports there will be no TV coverage of this new tournament.
